How to Create an Existing Post Ad in Facebook Ads Manager
How to turn an existing Facebook or Instagram post into an ad by selecting the campaign and ad set, choosing Use Existing Post, adding text options, setting a call to action, checking promotions, reviewing enhancements, and adding tracking.

This is how to make an existing post ad in Facebook Ads Manager.
Select the Campaign and Ad Set
In your Facebook ad account, select the campaign and the ad set where you want to create the ad.
Click the green Create button in the top left corner.
Name the Ad

You can enter a name now or click Continue to start the ad creation process.
Name the ad something clear like Existing Post Ad and include details that help you recognize it later.
Check Identity

Under Identity, make sure you have selected the correct Facebook page and Instagram account.
If you manage multiple businesses, double check this to avoid posting from the wrong page.
Choose Use Existing Post

Under Ad Setup, click the dropdown that says Create Ad and switch to Boost Post.
Select Post

You will see posts from your Facebook profile, Instagram account, and any partner content.
Select the post you want to promote. You can also choose an influencer’s post if you have a partnership.
Edit Text Options
The primary text from the post will appear automatically.
You can add more text options, copy text used in previous ads, or try Meta’s Advantage Plus creative text generation.
Review any AI generated text before publishing.
Set the Call to Action

Select a button such as Shop Now, Order Now, or another relevant option.
Avoid a button like Watch Now if it is not appropriate for your product.
Promotions and Email Signup
Check that your promotions are correct. Meta can automatically pull promo codes from your website.
You can also enable an email signup offer through Commerce Manager and edit the default 15 percent discount if needed.
Review Advantage Plus Enhancements

You can turn on AI enhancements like overlays or music.
Click Edit next to enhancements to preview them.
Music can be off brand, so many adveisers turn it off.
Add Tracking

Add offline events and URL parameters the same way you would for other ads to track performance.
